Step 1

Neck Girth

Measure the circumference of the base of the neck as a V line, where the collar of the cheongsam would sit. Depends how loose or tight you want your collar to be.

Step 2

Bust

Measure around the fullest part of the bust, ensuring the tape measure remains level. Select the bra you intend to wear with the cheongsam, avoiding sports bras.

Step 3

Waist

Measure around the natural waistline, which is typically an inch or so above the belly button. The thinnest part of your waist.

Step 4

Hips

Feet together, measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks, ensuring the tape is level. Move the tape up and down to make sure you can wear the cheongsam throughly.

Step 5

Shoulder Width

Measure from the edge of one shoulder, across the back to the edge of the other shoulder. Arms on the side, shoulder joint to shoulder joint.

Step 6

Front Breast Width (Front Armpit to Armpit)

Start from your left armpit, measure across your chest to your right. No need to go under the armpit. Do the same from the back.

Step 7

Back Width (Back Armpit to Armpit)

Start from your back left armpit, measure across your back to your right. No need to go under the armpit.

Step 8

Bust Point Height

Start from measuring from the edge of your neck where your shoulder begins down to the fullest of your bust.

Step 9

Bust Point Width

Measure the distance between the two bust points. 

Step 10

Shoulder to Waist

Measure from where the neck meets the shoulder, over the fullest part of the bust, to where the narrowest part of the waist sits.

Step 11

Back Shoulder to Waist

Turn around, measure from the back where the neck meets the shoulder to where the narrowest part of the waist sits.

Step 12

Armhole

Measure around your armhole, starting from the top of the shoulder, down under the armpit, and back up to the shoulder, creating a complete circle.

Step 13

Arm Girth

Wrap the tape around the widest part of your arm / biceps, have your hands on the side, and take the measurements from there. 

Step 14

Sleeves Length

Measure from shoulder bone to where you want the sleeves to end.

Step 15

Dress Length

Measure from the top of your shoulder, over the bust, to the desired length of the dress (e.g., knee-length, mid-calf, ankle-length). Let us know your heel length if applicable.

Step 16

Collar Height

Let us know what collar length you prefer.

  • 3 cm / 1.18 inch Comfort
  • 4 cm / 1.5 inch Normal
  • 5 cm / 2 inch Classy

Step 17

Slits

Measure the desired slit length. Determine the specific length needed for your garment. Typically starts from the dress end. Our ready-to-wear usually have slits length below:

  • 18cm / 7 inch
  • 20.5 cm / 8 inch
